Frequently Asked Questions
Do you just see clients who are struggling with anxiety?
No! I have experience and training with clients who struggle with sex addiction, anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, ADHD, personality disorders, and drug/alcohol addiction.
How much are sessions? Do you take insurance?
Individual sessions are $185. I am able to take insurance as an “out of network” provider, which means that you can pay me and submit to your insurance for reimbursement.
Where are your offices located?
I maintain offices in Scottsdale, Prescott Valley, and Wickenburg (all cities in Arizona, USA), but new clients see me online via Zoom.
What are your hours?
I see clients Monday through Friday and my hours vary depending on the day.
I have morning and afternoon hours available throughout the week.
How long are the sessions?
Sessions last 50 minutes, which is a clinical hour. This leaves me 10 minutes to take care of your paperwork and breathe a bit between sessions.
How do I set up an initial appointment?
Click the “BOOK NOW” box in the upper right-hand corner of the site, or you can click here. You’ll have the option to select a full session or simply book a 30-minute complimentary phone call to see if we’re a good fit. If there are not times available that fit for you, feel free to text me at 480-881-7058 and we’ll see what we can arrange.
What is your cancellation policy?
I have a 24-hour cancellation policy, meaning you have to let me know 24 hours in advance if you’re not able to attend.
What age ranges do you work with?
I work with adults ages 18 to whatever. I know some great child and adolescent therapists though – feel free to reach out if you’d like a referral.
Who do you work with?
I work with men, women, and couples who want to make a good relationship great. If you’re in a troubled relationship I’m happy to refer you to some folks who specialize in couples work.
What do you “actually” do in sessions with clients?
The process varies somewhat from person to person, but I like to start off by talking a bit about your goals. Then we work together to come up with a treatment plan that maps out how we’re going to get from where we are to where you’re wanting to go.
How long will I need to work with you to get better?
That depends on your goals and how willing you are to work on the things that are underneath whatever is bringing you in. That said, I find that many of my clients “graduate” in 4-6 months.
When we meet I will give you an estimate regarding how long I think you can expect to be working on the issue(s) you’d like to address.
What modalities do you use?
I’ve been trained extensively in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Post-Induction Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Attachment Therapy, the Neuro-Affective Relational Model, and Somatic Experiencing. We work together to decide what approaches are going to work best for you – different stuff works best for different people.
Where did you go to school?
I received an undergraduate degree in Religion from St. Olaf College and a Master’s in Counseling from the Adler Graduate School, both located in chilly Minnesota, USA.
