What do you “actually” do in sessions with clients?
The process varies somewhat from person to person, but I like to start off by talking a bit about your goals. Then we work together to come up with a tretament plan that maps out how we’re going to get from where we are to where you’re wanting to go.
How long will I need to work with you to get better?
That depends on your goals and how willing you are to work on the things that are underneath whatever is bringing you in. That said, I find that many of my clients “graduate” in 4-6 months.
When we meet I will give you an estimate regarding how long I think you can expect to be working on the issue(s) you’d like to address.
What modalities do you use?
I’ve been trained extensively in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Post-Induction Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Attachment Therapy and Somatic Experiencing. We work together to decide what approaches are going to work best for you – different stuff works best for different people.

I received an undergraduate degree in Religion from St. Olaf College and a Master’s in Counseling from the Adler Graduate School, both located in chilly Minnesota, USA.
